ORIGINS
Iris Evangeline Crock was born on September 29th in Baltimore, Maryland. Her father is of African-American decent and mother has a European background of Hungarian, Italian, and Irish; two parents who created both Iris and Odin. The family thrived off of music, art, and mythology-- everyone's namesake rooting from biblical or spiritual origins. When Iris was 15 she was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, and was hospitalized promptly after for an accidental-suicide attempt.

Originally, Iris had been accepted into Rhode Island School of Design however, she couldn't afford to go. She was kicked out by her parents after quitting schools leaving her homeless; struggling financially and also with a history with drugs after living on the streets. Along the way, she found love-- or what looked like it-- in the forms of beautiful men and women. She lost love to a white powder, and in the form of bloodied thighs as miscarriage's. Eventually, she made her way to Oregon, staying with her boss from the pottery studio she works at.
Iris is the embodiment of pure talent and intelligence: no formal education or training, being knocked repeatedly by people that were meant to love her, she managed to pull herself out of a hole she was slipping in and can hardly remember any of it.

RELATIONSHIPS

† = Deceased | ‡ = Resurrected | ⯑ = Missing

    Dante Crock:

Iris' father. He and Imogen had Iris half-way through their college career, leading them both having to drop out to prepare for the new baby. Dante made his sacrifices, as a parent, choosing a job in sales over his dream in order to support the future of his family. There's a part of him and Imogen, as parents and college dropouts, that resented Iris for making similar decisions simply because they didn't get that luxury and they view her as flippant for throwing opportunities away over them not matching her ideals. There's a level of uncertainty, but overall detachment from Dante towards Iris and it hurts her.

    Imogen Crock:

Iris' mother. She and Dante met in college and at the start of their Junior year learned of their pregnancy with Iris. Imogen abandoned her music studies and settled for a life in retail, later progressing to security detail. Imogen is decorated in tattoos and piercings, and had been diagnosed with the same mental illness as her daughter-- bipolar disorder. Imogen serves as a shining inspiration to Iris and their connection only grew as Iris did.

    Odin Willem Crock:

Iris' younger brother by five years. Despite being named after a God of Gods, Odin has always been one in the family to observe, constantly watching his mother and sister have their manic episodes and his father not synergize well with it. The upbringing was difficult, but he was able to see the neglect and pain that his sister experienced, despite him feeling like the outsider in a house of mania.

    Ashley:

Iris' first love. They met when they were 17 at a sleep-away-camp in Maine. They shared the same bunk and spent the entire summer secretly hooking up in the showers and sneaking away from camp. Iris' mom told her that she had nothing to be ashamed of; meanwhile, she never heard from Ashley again.

    Theo Molina:

Iris' last love. She met him when she was 16 and he was 22 at a restaurant they worked at together. He had a girlfriend and she was unassuming, as he strung her along for a gruesome game played on-and-off five years long. He was her gateway to drugs, to which she lost him to. Eventually, Iris learned that she wasn't in love to begin with.
