ORIGINS
Nora Amelia Allen was born on August 28th in San Francisco, CA. Her mother had her at the ripe age of twenty-one, uprooting all of their lives north to Redding, California. The family began made up of Nora, her mother Lara, and her father Carson. Eventually, giving Nora a baby sister by the name of Sofia, and a black Belgian Sheepdog they called Zeus.
With a successful lawyer for a father and a popular chef for a mother, Nora grew up in a passionate and professionally driven family. She is very self-sufficient, intelligent, and perfectionistic; yet also competitive, judgmental, and kind (none of which she takes as an insult.)
Her sister, Sofia, is six years younger and a spitfire of a girl-- quote, "the opposite of Nora". She is aggressive, argumentative, and secretive but still remains a generous, loving sixteen-year old who's fierceness could whip people into action.

Nora moved to Havendale, Oregon to continue her studies in Law and Neuroscience at OSU, after an incident at her previous alma mater, Sanford University, drove her out of town in hopes of regaining a hold of her reputation. So she moved in with her grandmother Amelia in New Haven. Amelia: a free-spirited, oddball of a woman, who tries to remind her granddaughter of the lighter-sides of life; an area even Nora’s father struggled with.

RELATIONSHIPS

† = Deceased | ‡ = Resurrected | ⯑ = Missing

    Clinton Jones:

CJ, Clint
Nora’s ex-boyfriend. They’ve been together for just over a year and unfortunately, CJ was someone Nora had to leave behind in Redding when she relocated to Abyss Valley. Their relationship is now one of long-distance, and they've been struggling on-and-off for a few months now. Current Status: OFF

    Dr. Daniel Pierce:

Nora’s mentor and Neuroscience professor at Oregon State University. Daniel is eccentric and has a strong sense of justice. He can come off as detached and has been known for being overly-analytical and criticizing, despite not being particularly judgmental. He has a distrust for technology, leading Nora to having to write long-handed notes and appointments for him as opposed to modern methods. Daniel has come to find a home of trust in Nora, and Nora is fond of him as her teacher. He knows why she left California and came to New Haven.

    Amelia Allen:

Nora’s paternal grandmother and flat-mate in New Haven. She is the mother of Carson Allen, moving him from Pennsylvania to Havendale in the middle of his high school career, to escape her boyfriend and history. Amelia has always felt remorse for doing so, and for putting her family in a bad situation. Amelia is a modern-day medium. She is extremely intuitive and more right than she is wrong.  She studies spirituality and practices occult-like activities such as astrological and tarot readings and spiritual energies.

    Carson Allen:

Nora’s father grew up in Pennsylvania, moving to New Haven at the ripe age of seventeen; at his mother Amelia’s will. He never knew his father, and the only men he’d come to know were his mother's temporary love interests. She did well to not allow any but one close to her family, and this very soiled romance drove the family across the country to Havendale, Oregon. Carson studied at Oregon State University, and went on to pursue a career in law at Stanford University. There, he met Lara Meade, the future mother of his daughters. After Nora’s incident at Stanford, he took it upon himself to help Nora rebuild and finish her education at a school he might have an influence on her acceptance: Oregon State University.

    Lara Allen:

Nora’s mother. Born and raised in Sacramento, Lara Meade’s family was passion-driven. Full of artists and chefs, she followed suit and studied at a culinary institute in her home state. At an event hosted at Stanford, Lara met Carson Allen, the future father of her daughters. Soon after, they began a romantic relationship, leading them to move to Redding, California to start a family of their own.

    Sofia Allen:

Nora’s younger sister, six-years Nora’s junior. Passionate, opinionated, witty, and always ready to bite, Sofia is described as a spitfire. A tigress with little to no reason for her stripes. She is aggressive and lacks hesitation, but these tendencies are mostly her way of expressing herself in a self-viewed competitive household. Being the younger sister of someone as achieving and goal-oriented as Nora is no easy feat, and Sofia often feels looked over; despite their household not being a toxic and always loving environment. Sofia expresses most of her energy and angst through high-intensity sports and has a soft spot for childhood tales such as 'Alice in Wonderland' , finding herself relating to their lives. Despite her skewed resentment of Nora, she loves her; as family should.
